About Incognito Mode
Information and files are kept stored on your computer long after you have searched and browsed to a website online using your browser. These files include information from visited websites, particularly search and site specific preferences which are stored on your computer in small text files known as cookies.
Chrome`s Incognito mode removes private browsing data and components left behind on your computer after you would have ended a browsing session and closed the chrome browser. This happens with all browsers (Firefox, Internet explorer, Opera, etc) on your computer once you use it to browse online but for this post we are looking at Google Chrome browser.
How to Activate Incognito Mode in Chrome
Click on the main menu of the Google chrome browser at the top right of the browser window. At the drop down tab, choose New incognito window.

You will know that you are in incognito mode because the chrome browser window will look a bit darker than the usual. It will even tell you that you are in Incognito mode and give you a basic introduction about incognito mode. Note everything done within this window will not be recorded or stored such as temporary internet files and browsing history.
What does Incognito browsing mean?
Browsing in Incognito mode means that you are browsing privately. As such no other person that users your computer can see your browsing activity such sites you visited etc.However if you bookmark or download something it will be saved.
Here is a list of things that Google Chrome don`t save while in Incognito mode:
- Cookies and website data
- Your browsing history
- Information entered in forms
